With five Top 10 hits and a Gold-certified debut album, Honeyz burst onto the music scene with a bang. Specialising in R&B, pop and soul, since 1998 the trio have sold thousands of album copies worldwide. Throughout the late 1990s, 2000s and early 2010s, Honeyz toured the world with their sell-out show, enjoyed by thousands of loyal fans. While featuring at events, this girl group can truly fill the dance floor with pounding feet and singing guests, eager to fully embrace the noughties throwback. The group started as a duo titled Essence, formed by Mercury Records in 1997.
Considered to be a rival for the Spice Girls, the women encapsulated a younger, fresher take on pop R&B. In the following year, 1998, the final member joined and Honeyz was formed. Their debut song, Finally Found, quickly reached number four in the UK Singles Chart, reflecting their initial success in the industry. Honeyz became a fan favourite, boasting sales of 350,000 followed their next track, End of the Line.
Honeyz’s first album was titled Wonder No. 8, and sold 200,000 copies – this earned the trio a Gold certification. Internationally, their debut singles are both Platinum certified. Following a shift in members, the new trio performed at London’s Mardi Gras celebration, Capital Radio’s Party in the Park and Machester Apollo. Their achievements include being nominated for Best Newcomer and Best R&B Act at the 1999 MOBO Awards, The Best British Girl Band at the 2000 Maxim Awards and nominated for Best British Breakthrough Act at the 2000 BRIT Awards.
