Cher Lloyd

Cher Lloyd is a singer who rose to prominence on the seventh series of The X Factor. Despite finishing in fourth place, the judges were so impressed with her dazzling performances and expressive, playful R&B style combined with pop and urban notes, that she was immediately offered a record deal with Syco Music after the show. 2011 was a very busy year for Cher, first, she went on the X Factor Live Tour where she performed for 500,000 people around the UK. Then she went on to release her debut single Swagger Jagger which performed exceptionally well, reaching number one on the UK Singles Chart.

Shortly after, Cher release her second single, With UR Love, which made it to number four on the UK Singles Chart. This was followed by her debut album Sticks and Stone which was released at the end of 2011. The album was very successful both in the UK and US reaching number four on the UK Albums Chart and nine on the US Billboard 200. This caught the attention of the leading US record label Epic Records which offered Cher a record deal and would later help establish her as a mainstream artist in the US.

Cher went on to release a solo version of her single Want U Back, which made it on the top 20 Billboard Hot 100 chart. In 2014, Cher released her second album, Sorry I’m Late, performing admirably, the album reached 21 on the UK Albums Chart and number 12 on the Billboard 200. Later that year,  Cher collaborated with the famous singer Demi Lovato on the Song Really Don’t Care, before taking a break from the music industry.

In 2016 she came back stronger than ever with her single Activated. This was succeeded with the singles None of My Business and M.I.A in 2018 and 2019 respectively. Cher has won multiple awards for her outstanding performances and extraordinary vocals, including the Teen Choice Award in 2014 and the Radio Disney Music Award in 2015. Furthermore, she has received many nominations for the UK Music Video Award and the MTV Europe Music Award.
